DCE faculty member Allie Kurtz will lead creative romps into new lands using dance, music, creative drama, arts and crafts. Each 2-week session will bring a tale to life through movement and storytelling and culminate in an informal performance for family and friends. for ages 8 - 10 (must be 8 by 9-1-08)

Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
With a special performance on the last week!

July 14 - August 7, 2008, Cost: $895
"If you are a dreamer, come in." Take a journey to Where the Sidewalk Ends this summer in Dance Performance Workshop! Young dancers stretch their bodies and their imaginations as they create and perform an original adaptation of Shel Silverstein's weird, wild, wonderful poetry. DCE teachers lead two levels of morning technique classes in Ballet, Jazz, and Modern Dance. Afternoons, campers become a collaborative ensemble, working together to write, choreograph, and compose an original dance-theater work, all under the careful direction of Striding Lion Artists, Amanda Berg Wilson and Allison Kurtz. Specialty classes, a beach day, and a trip to the theater make this a camp not to be missed! "If you are a pretender, come sit by my fire, for we have some flax golden tales to spin. Come in!"

DANCEMAKERS WORKSHOP
for Ballet & Modern levels 2B, 3, and 4

Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
With a special performance on the last week! No class on Friday, July 4.

June 16 - July 3, 2008, Cost: $745

What would happen if the gigantic outdoor sculptures in the Skokie Northshore Sculpture Park came alive? How would they move? In collaboration with Meghann Wilkinson (performing artist with Lucky Plush Productions and DCE faculty member), workshop participants will transform these artistic works of stone and metal into their own swirling, moving choreography. Mornings will consist of two dance classes each day including ballet, modern and jazz. Afternoons will be spent choreographing, selecting music, creating costumes, and rehearsing for the final show!
