STUDIO RULES AND POLICIES

NO REFUND POLICY Be sure the classes you choose fit your schedule and your child wants to dance. A trial class may be taken for $15.00, however only fully registered (tuition paid) students can be guaranteed a space in class. Tuition will be refunded if DCE must cancel a class.

ATTENDANCE AND MAKE-UP CLASSES Notify the office in advance of any absences. Missed classes may be made up, after notifying DCE, during the same session at the same or lower class level.

TARDINESS Classes begin on time. Late admittance to class is at the teacher's discretion. Tardy students may be asked to observe class.

NOTES TO PARENTS Please pick up children promptly after class. Please remember, there is absolutely no parking or standing in the fire lane. Dancers should not wear hair or body oils/lotions to class as they cause potentially dangerous slippery areas in the dance studios.

STUDENT BEHAVIOR No gum chewing allowed. Food may be eaten in waiting areas only; no food or drinks in dressing rooms. Help keep dressing rooms neat. Maintain a positive and supportive attitude toward your fellow students.

RECITAL Registration in Session II assumes recital participation and responsibility for costume cost.

Dance Center Evanston reserves the right, after consultation with parent, to suspend or dismiss, with no tuition refund, any student whose attitude, attendance, or conduct is deemed unsatisfactory or dangerous to self or others.

CLASSROOM ETIQUETTE

  • Listening when the teacher speaks.
  • Always standing in a "proper dance stance" while listening to the teacher give combinations or corrections.
  • Being prepared for their turn.
  • Always asking before leaving the room for any reason and upon returning enter quietly and go around the back of the room, never through the dancers who are dancing.
