JAZZ, TAP AND HIP HOP are uniquely American dance forms. Usually danced to contemporary music, they help dancers develop strong rhythmic sense and style.
Jazz is a stylized dance form based on ballet and modern technique, and therefore requires previous technical training. Dancers must be at Ballet 2A level before entering the Jazz Program.
Hip Hop is an exciting meld of contemporary funk movement and jazz dance. There is no ballet requirement for Hip Hop, but dancers must be at least 10 years old.
Tap is a rhythm based movement technique and an important part of the well rounded dancer's training. Tap provides a strong sense of musicality, dynamics, and performance quality.
All Jazz, Tap and Hip Hop classes participate in the Annual Recital.
