SCHEDULE FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 10-11 JAZZ, TAP and HIP HOP Jazz (ages 10 & up) is a stylized dance form based on ballet and modern technique, and therefore requires previous technical training. Dancers must be at Ballet 2A level before entering the Jazz Program and must be concurrently enrolled in their required ballet classes. Tap (ages 6 & up) is a rhythm based movement technique and an important part of the well rounded dancer's training. Tap provides a strong sense of musicality, dynamics, and performance quality. There is no ballet requirement for Tap. Hip Hop (ages 10 & up) is an exciting meld of contemporary funk movement and jazz dance. There is no ballet requirement for Hip Hop.
